Hello,

If you’re here, there’s a good chance your child is finding Maths, Physics or Science more difficult than it should be, and you’re not quite sure how best to support them.

I work with students in exactly that position, helping them rebuild confidence, close gaps in understanding, and start to feel more comfortable with the subject again.

My Story

My background isn’t a traditional tutoring route. I spent 15 years in the Royal Navy’s Weapons Engineering branch, including serving as a Deputy Weapons Engineering Officer on operational warships, before moving into a role as a Senior Systems Engineer at BAE Systems. During that time, I developed a structured, methodical approach to solving complex problems, something that directly shapes how I teach today.

I later moved into education and completed formal training in secondary Physics teaching at Edinburgh Napier University, including classroom experience and learning how to apply research-backed teaching methods. This gave me a clear understanding of how students learn and why things sometimes don’t click the first time.

Today, I work as an online Maths and Physics tutor with students across the UK and internationally. I support students studying Maths and Physics up to GCSE, IGCSE and National 5 level, while also helping build strong foundations in Maths and Science at BGE and KS3 level.

Every student is different, so I don’t follow rigid lesson plans. Instead, I adapt each session in real time, focusing on what your child needs in that moment, whether that’s filling gaps in knowledge, improving exam technique, or rebuilding confidence.

My aim is not just to get through content, but to make sure your child genuinely understands what they’re doing so they can move forward with confidence.
